Located in the Central West Coast sandplain 200 kilometres of Perth, the park covers 44,324 hectares. Watheroo National Park is accessible from all directions by good Gravel Roads. No internal access is provided. It is sandplain country, bordered to the east by a low creek flowing south to Moore River. Eastern area around Jingamia Cave has rock outcrops. Vegetation consists of low sandplain Heath, Banksia and Malley thickets with tall Eucalypts (Powder Bark) Thickets on West side of the park. Fauna includes the usual sandplain and Heath-type animals and birds. There are some Grey Kangaroo around Jingamia Cave area. Discreet camping is allowed after consultation with the Ranger-in-charge. However, there are no facilities provided. The park does not have any walking trails. Winter through to early Summer is the best time to visit. Visitors are encouraged to carry their own water as there is no water provided in the park. Visit CALM's NatureBase website at http://www.calm.wa.gov.au/ for more information.
