The Townsville Gliding Club is Australia's newest gliding club.The club is just beginning to gather new members who are interested in starting a gliding club close to Townsville.Back in the 1960's and 70's groups of like minded people in Queensland got together and created small gliding clubs all over QLD. Some of those grew into larger clubs and some of them faded away. Townsville has the population base to create a good size club, so please come get involved.We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers with a love of flying and aircraft, who want to be involved in building the foundations of what we hope will become a fantastic club. Even if you never want to fly a glider, but you are excited about being involved with aviation, please do apply for membership. We are currently accepting only non-flying membership, until such time as we can guarantee flying- $1 to join $20 per annum non-flying membership
