The Early Years of a child's life sets the foundation for a healthy future. The YMCA Approach to early childcare and education is to give children opportunities to play, allowing them the opportunity to discover and learn. Early Education centers provide an environment that nurtures and encourages all aspects of your child's individual development during the formative years. The YMCA employs caring, nurturing and professional staff who actively role model positive behaviours and values to the children in their care. Our friendly staff provide a loving place where children grow and develop in a caring environment. All staff hold early childhood qualifications in accordance with the education and care services national regulations. However many of our staff hold additional qualifications over and above the regulations and have been with us long term. As a part of the employment process all staff will undergo referee checks, must hold a positive blue card and complete child protection training We support children to: - Develop new skills and interest. - Build self-confidence and positive identity. - Interact with other children and adults. - Explore and discover new environments. Experiences include: - Healthy eating and cooking activities to develop a positive experience of food and how it is prepared. - Learning about personal hygiene like toileting, hand washing and dental hygiene. - Creative art projects that develop an appreciation of different cultures. - Music, dance and drama experiences that help children to express themselves. - Physical activities and games that encourage children to be active through jumping, crawling, climbing, running and skipping. - Household and gardening experiences that teach children responsibility and self-help skills. - Quiet time for stories and rest. The YMCA supports the inclusion of all children into care. For children with additional support needs including disabilities and cultural inclusion, we will work with the families to ensure your child's individual needs are met. We are able to access funding and support through Commonwealth and State Government funded programs where necessary.
