FAQs

No, we provide a free consultation and quote.
Absolutely, and recommended. If you wish to discuss supply only, please contact me.
Please see our 'Process' on the home page, but basically your needs will be discussed, many questions asked, suggestions made, samples to see and touch, photos to show, then measure and quote. https://aestheticblinds.com.au/#process
Aesthetic Blinds is a family run local business and services Brisbane clients north of the river, up to Pine River, and west to the Samford area.
As a family business, weekends are precious. However, for those unable to meet during the week, a weekend may be arranged. Please ask.
That is perfect! That's what we're here for!
The back of the car is practically a showroom! All samples will be brought along to your consultation. It does help in advance, if you are looking for new curtains, to have an idea of colour/texture. There is only so much one car can carry lol.
I believe the main benefit is the personalised service. The whole process is guided by me; initial booking, consultation, order, and great installation. With much less double handling, less errors occur, and communication is open and honest. It's basically just nicer! And if you're worried about cost, don't. Over the years I've rarely noticed much difference with comparative quotes. Aesthetic Blinds is very competitive.

Energy Prices and your Home
There has been a lot of media coverage recently about rising energy prices, particularly electricity. This is unwelcome news for anyone, as it's coinciding with increasingly higher costs of living.
Cooling and heating is a large portion of energy costs in the home. In Brisbane, Summer is our worst season as we try to keep ourselves cool.
To make your home as energy efficient as possible, here are a few tips:
• Insulate - ceiling, walls, floors. Thankfully if you're building or renovating, this is a standard.
• Stop the heat from penetrating the glass - Once the hot sun is in the room, it's trapped. The best way to prevent your home heating up, is to stop the hot sun via tinting, eaves, or outdoor awnings.
• Allow air flow - work out how to get the best cross ventilation in your home. If you're building, this might influence the orientation of your home, or where you position the doors/windows.
• Window coverings - when it comes to insulation, some products are better than others. Shutters are excellent in Brisbane as the dense material insulates well, but also allows for airflow when tilted open. East and West windows and doors will need the better insulation options.

Cushion placement.
Do you ever walk into a display home, or the home of your perfectionist friend, and wonder how on earth they manage to get their cushions to make their space look so glamorous?
Here are some simple tricks for you.
But firstly, and this will be repeated over and over in Enness Home Living; You be You! Home décor has some rules to help with coordination, but at the end of the day, it is your home and everyone has their own preferences. Deep within you do know what you like, so go with your gut.

Colour

The question here could be as simple as; Do you want colour and how much? This may depend on which room you are decorating.
The 'rumpus' may be a space of fun and many cushions of all sorts of bright colours and patterns could be the go, while a formal lounge would be more subdued with a more even colour scheme (black and white, or different shades of blue).

Size

My preference is a 50 x 50cm cushion. Not too small, not too big. Great to lean on, but doesn't take over the couch (let's be honest, it's still a couch, not a cushion display cabinet). A nice mix of sizes is good too, break up the heights to create texture, bring in smaller ones to lay your head, and super large ones for the floor. Why not?

Texture

With texture you have freedom of choice. If you are going natural, plainer colour hues, then break it up with lots of different textures.

Placement

This is the BIG question. And there are so many different ways.
Outside In - layer them from the outside of the couch, 2 or more cushions each side, dependent on couch size. (option - 2 or 3 each end, and another 2 in the middle if it is a long couch).
Triple effect - Using 3 different cushions, layout them each end of the couch.
Formal - put cushion central on the seating part with a smaller cushion in front.
