Osteopathy is a manual therapy which uses a variety of techniques. These may include soft tissue, stretching, joint manipulation, articulation or myofascial dry needling. Osteopaths may also advise on correct posture, gait, lifting techniques and provide rehabilitation programs. Becoming an Osteopath requires a minimum 5 year university study including anatomy, physiology, pathology, general medical diagnosis and osteopathic technique. Osteopaths are required to participate in ongoing professional development and education. They must be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency to practice.
